Work exchange · Alentejo · Portugal
Give your time.
The land gives back.
This isn't a normal job board. It's a work exchange on a rural campo near Santa Clara Lake — where the place provides solar power, spring water, and a full fridge, and volunteers can live rent-free.

How it works here
Not a job. An exchange.
You give your time and care; the land gives back in kind. A room. A full fridge. Power from the sun. Water from the spring. Long evenings and good company. We measure in trust and contribution, not timesheets.
Some roles are live-in and for someone who wants to put down roots. Others are a single weekend, or just a few hours. All of them are real exchanges — nobody works here for nothing, and nobody pretends otherwise.

Residency · 2 weeks minimum · On-site
Method Actor
What you do
Live and breathe the Tara Verde world for a minimum of two weeks. Take calls, host conversations, represent the space — in character. Improvise within a loose script. You are the human face of the campo.
What you bring
Improv skills, comfort with unusual situations, ideally native Portuguese. You can work from a script but must be able to go off it when the other side does.
What you get
Free accommodation, full fridge, solar power, EV charging — plus a fee for the residency.
Not a costume, not a performance. A way of being present in a place that needs a voice.

Remote Improv Actor
What you do
Take spontaneous calls or chats — in Portuguese, German, or English — working from a loose script. Represent the project to specific contacts: authorities, service providers, new arrivals. You know the playbook but you can improvise when the other side goes off-script.
What you bring
Quick thinking, cool nerves, fluent Portuguese. Theatre or improv background a plus. You don't need to be on-site — just available when the scene calls for it.
What you get
Per-gig pay, flexible hours, and an interesting story to tell.
All the world's a stage. This stage just happens to be in Alentejo.

Live-in · On-site · The wood house (Holzhaus)
König / Königin of the Wood House
What you do
Whoever actually lives full-time in the Holzhaus — the little wood house, not the main house Freja — reigns as its König or Königin. Light stewardship of that one space: the wood house and the small pond in front of it. Be a friendly presence, greet guests, keep your realm welcoming.
What you get
Your own space in the wood house — rent-free, solar power, spring water, a full fridge — and the title, for as long as you live there.
What you bring
That you actually live here full-time. The crown belongs to whoever's home.
Like the fly-swatter sceptre in Werner: you hold the crown while you reign, then it passes to the next resident.

Remote · Coordination · From anywhere
Queen Bee / Remote Coordinator
What you do
A hive needs a queen bee to coordinate the drones — otherwise one person ends up doing everything alone. Organize the other gigs and volunteers, keep communication flowing between everyone, match hands to tasks. Fully remote.
What you bring
Organization, warmth, and a knack for keeping people in the loop. Works from anywhere — no need to be on-site.
What you get
A per-gig or monthly arrangement, flexible hours, and the quiet satisfaction of a hive that hums.
The bees do the flying. The queen makes sure the whole hive moves as one.
